October 27, 2023

The Simon Wiesenthal Center supports military airstrikes by the US on two locations in eastern Syria linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps. The Center is also wishing the IDF a resounding success as it expands its ground operations in Gaza in the fight against Hamas and in the efforts to free the hostages.

Rabbi Marvin Hier, Founder and CEO of the Simon Wiesenthal Center and Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Associate Dean and Global Social Action Director issued the following statement:

“SWC fully supports the military strikes by the US warning the Iranian regime to desist from attacking our soldiers and wish the IDF a speedy success in defeating terrorist Hamas and freeing innocent hostages held in Gaza.”

Rabbi Hier also noted quotes from two of Israel’s great leaders:

“Those that perished in Hitler’s gas chambers, will be the last Jews to die without defending themselves” – Golda Meir

History has taught us “it is not enough to be up to date, you have to be up to tomorrow” - David Ben Gurion

The Simon Wiesenthal Center is one of the largest international Jewish human rights organizations in the United States. It is an NGO at international agencies including the United Nations, UNESCO, the OSCE, the OAS, the Council of Europe and the Latin American Parliament (Parlatino).
