In a letter to Mr. Reiner Hoffmann, Chairman of the DGB, (Germany's Trade Union Confederation), Simon Wiesenthal Centre Director for International Relations, Dr. Shimon Samuels, "Commended its Worker's Council for its decision to block the promotion of a hate-monger".

The letter stressed, "The Centre's members are delighted to learn that in view of the anti-Christian and anti-Semitic expressions of, reportedly, 'a 35 year old Muslim employee' of Hasco, Global Equipment Supplier, on his Facebook page, your board has decided to block his promotion."

Samuels stated, "May I dare to suggest, however, that this is rather like a surgeon leaving a malignant tumour in the body. The only response to such behaviour is his rapid expulsion from the Union."

"Your Federation might also consider taking the necessary measures with his employer to ensure that he does not continue to infect his fellow workers in the path of hate," concluded Samuels.
