“The Simon Wiesenthal Center condemns Larry David’s reference to concentration camps and victims of the Holocaust, including women victims of the Nazi Holocaust, during his monologue on ‘Saturday Night Live’,” said Rabbi Marvin Hier, Founder and Dean of the Center and Rabbi Abraham Cooper, its Associate Dean and Director of Global Social Action Agenda.
“Whatever his motivation, he succeeded in denigrating the victims of the Shoah and the collective memory of history’s greatest crime,” the rabbis continued.
“‘Saturday Night Live’ producers should have known better than to clear distasteful and inappropriate statements from both the live and recorded broadcast,” Hier and Cooper concluded.
