AMIA leadership and representatives of Iranian atrocity victims excluded from Argentine Foreign Ministry debriefing meeting
In a letter to AMIA Jewish welfare centre President Guillermo Borger and to the families group Memoria Activa’s President Adriana Reisfeld, Simon Wiesenthal Centre officials, Dr. Shimon Samuels, SWC Director for International Relations and Sergio Widder, SWC Director for Latin America stated:
"At this time of extensive Argentine-Iranian diplomatic negotiations, the Simon Wiesenthal Center worldwide membership expresses its unconditional solidarity with AMIA and with the families of the 85 murdered and over 300 wounded victims of the terrorist attack of July 18, 1994, in Buenos Aires," declared Samuels.
“This - the greatest anti-Semitic pogrom since the Holocaust - cries out for the Iranian and Hizbollah perpetrators identified by INTERPOL to face the bar of justice," added Widder.
"All parties affected by the atrocity must be directly included in any advisory and debriefing stages of the ongoing 'dialogue' between the Argentine government and its Iranian counterpart. Only full transparency will prevent Tehran from abusing Buenos Aires' repeated commitment to justice," stressed Samuels and Widder.

Directivos del Centro Simon Wiesenthal enviaron sendas cartas al presidente de AMIA, Guillermo Borger y a la presidenta de la agrupación Memoria Activa, Adriana Reisfeld, señalando su apoyo a la búsqueda de justicia.
“En estos momentos de exhaustivas negociaciones entre Argentina e Irán, la membresía internacional del Centro Simon Wiesenthal expresa una vez más su solidaridad incondicional con AMIA y con los familiares de los 85 muertos y más de 300 heridos por el ataque terrorista del 18 de julio de 1994 en Buenos Aires”, declaró Samuels.
“Este, el mayor pogromo antisemita desde el Holocausto, exige que los responsables de Hezbollah e Irán reclamados por INTERPOL sean llevados ante la justicia”, agregó Widder.
“Todas las partes directamente afectadas por esta atrocidad deben estar incluidas en cualquier etapa de evaluación o de información acerca del actual ‘diálogo’ entre el gobierno argentino y su contraparte iraní”, señalaron Samuels y Widder.
