Wiesenthal Center Hails Scarlett Johannson for Standing Up to Anti-Israel Boycotters

The Simon Wiesenthal Center is praising actress Scarlett Johannson for her decision to promote SodaStream, the beverage gadget developed by an Israeli company that has long been a target for supporters of the anti-Israeli “Boycott Disinvestment and Sanctions” (BDS) movement.

“I congratulate Scartlett Johansson for standing up to the BDS’ers — the alphabetic equivalent of anti-Semitism,” said Rabbi Marvin Hier, founder and dean of the Wiesenthal Center. “The simple fact is an undeniable truth that Israel is the only true democracy in the Middle East,” he added. “The world would be a much better place if all of Israel’s neighbors followed her example,” he concluded.
