Wiesenthal Center: Green Party’s Presidential Candidate Would Endanger Israel’s Existence

The Simon Wiesenthal Center denounced the Green Party’s presidential candidate, Dr. Jill Stein, for slandering Israel as an ‘apartheid’ state and for calling for the US to end military aid to the Jewish State.

“Dr. Stein who told Newsweek that her relationship with Israel is an ‘ethical’ one, in fact supports policies that would endanger the very existence of the Middle East’s only democracy and cause irreparable damage – in the words of the Green Party’s own platform –to ‘the hope of a more democratic, safer… world…. where nature and human society co-exist in harmony,’” charged Rabbi Marvin Hier Dean and Founder and Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Associate Dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, a leading Jewish Human Rights NGO.

“Instead of supporting the anti-peace, anti-Semitic BDS movement, Dr. Stein and the Green Party should be presenting Israel as an example of a 21st Century innovative and environmentally friendly and resource-preserving free society,” the Center officials added.

“Further, Dr. Stein uses the ‘apartheid state’ big lie about the democracy whose Arab citizens have more opportunity and more freedom of speech and religion than in any Arab nation,” Rabbis Hier and Cooper continued.

“Should her policies ever be put into place what would be the fate of Israel’s eight million citizens? They would be left defenseless in face of genocidal threats from Iran and hundreds of thousands of Hezbollah and Hamas rockets,” they also said.

“Tragically, Dr. Stein seems more interested in unfairly targeting and denigrating Israel than contributing to an environment that would benefit Israelis and Palestinians alike,” the Center officials concluded.
