Wiesenthal Center Denounces Nazi Instruction in a Juvenile Detention Center in Ecuador

October 13, 2020

Buenos Aires – During the pandemic, it was found that a well-known neo-Nazi from Quito who calls himself "Son of the Sun," was present at the Virgilio Guerrero Center for Adolescent Offenders (CAI).

Under the guise of teaching the interns martial arts, he used the class to indoctrinate them into Nazism.

Dr. Ariel Gelblung, Simon Wiesenthal Center`s Director for Latin America, concluded: “Although we are aware that those responsible for having introduced this vector of hate were expelled from the job, we urge that the damage be repaired, explaining to young people about of hate politics, Nazism in particular, and the consequences of racism, xenophobia and discrimination. The Wiesenthal Center has adequate programs and associates in Ecuador who are willing to help in that regard.”
