The Simon Wiesenthal Center condemned the murder of Daniel Zamudio, a gay youth held and brutally beaten by a neo-Nazi gang for over three weeks.
“The hate motivated torture to death of Zamudio simply for being homosexual is reminiscent of the month of beatings resulting in the death in Paris of Ilan Halimi, simply for being Jew. Whether Islamists in France or neo-Nazis in Chile, the perpetrators must be treated to the severity of a justice that invokes the aggravated circumstances of hate crime. This must also include the dissolution of neo-Nazi gangs and their retinue, as a danger to society as a whole”, stressed

El Centro Simon Wiesenthal condenó el asesinato a golpes de un joven gay en Chile por parte de una patota neonazi. La víctima, Daniel Zamudio, fue atacado a golpes el 3 de marzo y agonizó durante más de tres semanas.
“La golpiza y las torturas motivadas por el odio, que culminaron con la muerte de Zamudio por el hecho de ser homosexual, traen reminiscencias del mes de golpes que resultaron en el asesinato de Ilan Halimi en Paris, sólo por ser judío. Ya sea que se trate de islamistas en Francia, o de neo-nazis en Chile, los perpetradores deben ser tratados con el mayor rigor por parte de una justicia que debe considerar circunstancias agravantes por tratarse de un crimen motivado por el odio. Esto tiene que incluir, también, la disolución de las patotas neo-nazis y sus seguidores, por tratarse de una amenaza contra la sociedad en su conjunto”, remarcó el Dr. Shimon Samuels, Director de Relaciones Internacionales del Centro Simon Wiesenthal.
