In a letter to Deputy Elias Castillo, President of the Latin American Parliament (PARLATINO), Dr. Shimon Samuels (Director for International Relations of the Simon Wiesenthal Center) and Sergio Widder (the Center’s Director for Latin America) denounced anti-Semitic statements by Deputy Adel El Zabayar, member of Venezuela’s National Assembly, on Hizbollah’s Al Manar TV (headquartered in Lebanon).
The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) revealed on its website, www.memritv.org, an interview of November 14, during which El Zabayar commented, inter alia:
“In order to understand what is happening today in the Middle East and what happened in the world in the first and second world wars we must examine the original Zionist conspiracy. If we look into who financed Hitler before WWII we will see that the main financiers were the Zionists. If you study the history of the killing of the Jews in Europe, you find that Hitler killed those Jews who belonged to progressive organizations (…) You will not find in those lists representatives of global Zionism. In 1934 they even issued a coin representing the friendship between Zionism and German Nazism.”
Samuels stressed, “El Zabayar uses Nazi tactics of the 'Big Lie' and bogus conspiracy theories to incite hatred, bringing shame to all Parliamentarians… The PARLATINO must condemn him for violation of its own ‘Declaration against Anti-Semitism’, adopted from a draft proposal presented by our Center. El Zabayar’s offense reveals how far Jihadist anti-Semitic rhetoric has become mainstream in Venezuela with a potential for spreading throughout Latin America.” (see http://www.parlatino.org/es/comisiones-permanentes/derechos-humanos-justicia-y-politicas-carcelarias/declaraciones/declaraciones/1740.html).
“We urge the PARLATINO to call on Venezuela’s National Assembly to divest El Zabayar of his immunity and remove him from national politics on grounds of incitement and endangering the safety of Venezuela’s Jewish community,” added Widder.

El Centro Wiesenthal pide al Parlamento Latinoamericano que condene declaraciones antisemitas formuladas por un diputado venezolano en el canal de TV Al Manar, perteneciente a Hezbollah

En una carta al Diputado Elías Castillo, Presidente del Parlamento Latinoamericano (PARLATINO), el Dr. Shimon Samuels (Director de Relaciones Internacionales del Centro Simon Wiesenthal) y Sergio Widder (Director para América Latina) denunciaron las declaraciones antisemitas del diputado Adel El Zabayar, miembro de la Asamblea Nacional venezolana, proferidas a través del canal televisivo Al Manar, perteneciente al grupo terrorista Hezbollah (con sede en El Líbano).
La organización MEMRI (The Middle East Media Research Institute) reveló a través de su sitio web, www.memritv.org , un reportaje realizado el 14 de noviembre último, en el que El Zabayar sostiene, entre otras cosas, lo siguiente:
“Para entender lo que ocurre en el mundo hoy y lo que sucedió con las dos guerras mundiales [del siglo XX] hay que entender la conspiración sionista”.
“Si estudiamos quiénes financiaron a Hitler antes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, veremos que los principales fueron los sionistas”
“Si analizamos a quiénes asesinó Hitler, veremos que las víctimas fueron los judíos progresistas (…) no va a encontrar entre los muertos a representantes del sionismo internacional. En 1934 acuñaron una moneda que simbolizaba la amistad entre el sionismo y el nazismo alemán”
Samuels destacó que “El Zabayar utiliza las tácticas nazis de las grandes mentiras y las teorías conspirativas falsas para incitar al odio, avergonzando a todos los Parlamentarios. El PARLATINO debe repudiarlo por haber violado su propia ‘Declaración contra el Antisemitismo’ adoptada a partir de una propuesta elaborada por nuestro Centro. Las declaraciones ofensivas de El Zabayar son reveladoras acerca de cómo la retórica antisemita jihadista se ha vuelto moneda corriente en Venezuela, con el potencial de extenderse por toda Latinoamérica” (ver http://www.parlatino.org/es/comisiones-permanentes/derechos-humanos-justicia-y-politicas-carcelarias/declaraciones/declaraciones/1740.html).
“Solicitamos que el PARLATINO formule un llamamiento a la Asamblea Nacional de Venezuela para que despoje a El Zabayar de su inmunidad y lo remueva de la escena política por incitar al odio y poner en riesgo a la comunidad judía en Venezuela”, agregó Widder.
