Wiesenthal Center Applauds Argentine Court Ruling to Reopen Murdered Prosecutor's AMIA Jewish Centre Bombing Investigation

Buenos Aires Two years have passed since murdered Prosecutor, Alberto Nisman, filed charges implicating, among others, former Argentine President Cristina Kirchner and her Foreign Minister, Hector Timerman of agreeing with Iran to end the investigation into its complicity in the planning, financing and facilitating of the 1994 terrorist attack on the AMIA Jewish Center of Buenos Aires, leaving 85 dead and more than 300 injured. The Prosecutor was found, on the eve of his presentation of these charges to the Argentine Congress, in his apartment with a bullet in his head, generally presumed to have been assassinated. A series of judicial rejections effectively closing the Nisman investigation has now been reopened at the urging of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, among others. Dr. Shimon Samuels, Director for International Relations of the Center, stated: "A short time before his murder, I dined with Nisman in London, where he shared his claims of dormant terrorist cells, Hezbollah infiltration in the Argentine, Brazilian, Paraguayan Triple Frontier and Iran's growing influence in the region... The reopened enquiry is expected to reveal a coverup of Tehran's complicity in the greatest mass murder of Jews and their Christian associates since the Holocaust... It will certainly vindicate INTERPOL's too-long suspended arrest warrants for the indicted Iranians." El Fiscal presuntamente asesinado, fue hallado en su departamento con una bala en la cabeza en vísperas de la presentación de dicha denuncia ante el Congreso Argentino. Tras una serie de rechazos judiciales, la ordenada reapertura de la investigación de la denuncia de Nisman está en consonancia con la postura manifiestamente sostenida –entre otros- por el Centro Simon Wiesenthal. Se espera que la reapertura de la investigación revele el encubrimiento de la participación de Teherán en el mayor asesinato de judíos y cristianos desde el holocausto.
