Israel's Former Ambassador to the United States, Current Member of the Knesset and Author of the New Book, Ally: My Journey Across the American-Israeli Divide

A fascinating depiction of the cultural, personal and historical ties that bind Israel and the United States together even as the Israel-Palestinian conflict and the U.S. policies towards the Iran nuclear program strained that relationship.

Interweaving the story of Oren's personal journey with behind-the-scenes accounts of fateful meetings between President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu, high-stakes summits with the Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, and diplomatic crises that intensified the controversy surrounding the world's most contested strip of land, Ally is at once a ringside seat to some of the most significant political summits of our time, a compelling memoir, and a timely testament to an alliance that was and will remain vital for Americans, Israelis, and the world.

Michael B. Oren is an American-born Israeli historian and author, and was Israel's ambassador to the United States from 2009 to 2013. He has written two New York Times bestsellers - Power, Faith, and Fantasy: America in the Middle East, 1776 to the Present and Six Days of War: June 1967 and The Making of the Modern Middle East. Dr. Oren has been a visiting professor at Harvard, Yale and Georgetown. The Jerusalem Post listed him as one of the world's ten most influential Jews. He is currently a member of the Knesset.

Discussion to be moderated by David Suissa, President, Tribe Media Corporation and The Jewish Journal.
