Dubbed the “Jewish Nobel” prize, the annual Genesis Prize honors extraordinary individuals for their outstanding professional achievement, contribution to humanity, and commitment to Jewish values.

“Steven Spielberg educated hundreds of millions of people about the Shoah with Schindler’s List and numerous projects,” said  Rabbi Marvin Hier, Simon Wiesenthal Center Founder and Dean and one of twelve members of the Genesis Prize Board of Directors and Advisory Board.

Hier served as a historical consultant to Schindler’s List and the film was shown, for the first time, to Spielberg’s family and friends at the Museum of Tolerance Los Angeles.
