Syria Deploys Chemical Weapons on Civilians - SWC: President Trump and UN Secretary General Guterres Should Lead Call to Try Assad For Crimes Against Humanity

“Earlier today, The White House confirmed that the latest poison gas attack against civilians was perpetrated by forces tied to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The Simon Wiesenthal Center urges President Trump and UN Secretary General Guterres to lead an international effort to put the Syrian dictator on trial for Crimes Against Humanity,” Rabbis Marvin Hier and Abraham Cooper, the Dean and Founder and Associate Dean of the Wiesenthal Center, a leading Jewish Human Rights NGO.

“How many more innocent children have to be gassed and shot before this butcher is brought before the bar of justice?"
Center officials added.

Now in its 40th year, the Simon Wiesenthal Center is named in honor of Simon Wiesenthal, a victim of the Nazi Holocaust during WWII, who went on to bring 1,100 perpetrators to justice.

CNN reports that dozens of people, including at least 10 children, were killed in what is suspected to be one of the deadliest chemical attacks in Syria in years, multiple activist groups say... .

In Washington, White House press secretary Sean Spicer told reporters the attack was perpetrated by forces tied to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
