SWC Urges French Interior Minister To Take Measures Over “Jewish Hit-List“

June 1, 2018

"A dangerous precedent for Jihadists or 'lone wolves'... French Interior Minister urged to take measures against incitement by those responsible"

A “hit-list” of public figures deemed to be Jewish has been compiled by Sihame Assbague (pictured), a French Muslim activist often accused of racist views towards Jews and whites.

The list includes former French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, far-left French politician Jean-Luc Melenchon, various Jewish intellectuals and the umbrella body of French Jewry, CRIF.

Hours after the story broke, the list disappeared from Assbague’s Facebook and Twitter accounts as well as that of the Franco-Islamic website, Al-Kanz, one of France’s most read Muslim news sites.

Assbague herself, claimed her list of “famous” French Jews was a “joke.” Al-Kanz is now attacking two of the Jews on the original list for a campaign of “fake news.”

“The Simon Wiesenthal Center is concerned that this “hit-list” sets a dangerous precedent for Jihadists or “lone wolves” who may take the list seriously,” said Dr. Shimon Samuels, SWC International Relations Director.

We therefore urge French Interior Minister, Gerard Collomb, to take measures regarding Assbague and Al-Kanz for incitement by way of a potentially dangerous “joke.”
