SWC Statement on Today's Horrific Palm Sunday Church Attacks in Egypt

April 9, 2017

The Simon Wiesenthal Center condemns the latest terrorist attacks by ISIS targeting Christian worshipers at Coptic Churches in Egypt on Palm Sunday.

"These murderous terrorist attacks against people at prayer are attacks against all people of faith and underscores the need for all civilized nations to cooperate in defeating ISIS and their ilk," said Rabbis Marvin Hier and Abraham Cooper, Dean and Founder and Associate Dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, a leading Jewish Human Rights NGO.

"There will be no peace in the world until people of all faiths can go to their Houses of Worship, pray and return home without fear of hate, intimidation, violence or terrorism," Wiesenthal Center officials concluded.
