SWC Statement on New Israeli Government

January 1, 2023

Rabbi Marvin Hier, Simon Wiesenthal Center Founder and CEO and Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Associate Dean and Global Social Action Director:

“Israel is robust democracy and as we have with every Israeli government since 1977, we respect the choice of the Israeli electorate.

“We are confident that the new government will serve all Israelis whatever their background and orientation.

“We wish Prime Minister Netanyahu well as he again pursues the expansion of the historic Abraham Accords.

“Finally, we look forward to working with Prime Minister Netanyahu and the appropriate government ministries to combat the resurgent anti-Semitism that threatens our people and our faith.”
