SWC: Grateful for Release of First Hostages; Prays for all to be Freed Safe

November 24, 2023

The Simon Wiesenthal Center is grateful for the release of the first 13 Israeli hostages, as well as 10 Thai nationals and 1 Filipino, held captive by the Hamas terrorist group since the October 7th massacre, the worst single day of mass murder of Jews since World War II.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center reiterates:

  • The international community, led by the United Nations, including agencies that are devoted to the well-being, safety and rights of women and children, help the remaining hostages
  • The International Red Cross visit with all the remaining hostages and provide them medical care as needed

If there is to be any hope for peace in the Holy Land, Hamas must be permanently removed.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center is an international Jewish human rights organization. It holds consultative status at the United Nations, UNESCO, the OSCE, the Council of Europe, the OAS, and the Latin American Parliament (PARLATINO).
