SWC EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES TO PEOPLE OF GREAT BRITAIN; TERRORIST ATTACK A BARBARIC ASSAULT ON HUMANITY
"The Simon Wiesenthal Center expressed its condolences to the people of Great Britain over today’s terrorist attack which killed at least 37 and injured hundreds more.
"We express our condolences to the people of Great Britain in their hour of tragedy," said Rabbi Marvin Hier, the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s dean and founder.
"This is a barbaric assault on mankind and a reminder to the G8 leaders meeting in Edinburgh that although the world faces many problems, international terrorism remains the number one threat," he said.
"If these terrorist fanatics are not brought down, they will destroy our entire civilization," Hier concluded.
The Simon Wiesenthal Center is one of the largest international Jewish human rights organizations with over 400,000 member families in the United States. It is an NGO at international agencies including the United Nations, UNESCO, and the OSCE. Its educational arms, the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles and the New York Tolerancenter in Manhattan, challenge visitors to confront bigotry and racism and to understand the Holocaust in both historic and contemporary contexts.
