The Simon Wiesenthal Center denounced the American Studies Association’s vote to endorse a boycott of Israeli academic institutions.
“Here we go again. The whole Arab world is going up in flames and the American Studies Association (ASA) is maligning the only true, free society left on the map of the Middle East,” said Rabbis Marvin Hier and Abraham Cooper, dean and founder and associate dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center.
“This is an act of infamy. It is not only an attack on Israeli academic institutions– this is an attack on Jews everywhere who support Israel and her universities,” they added.
“If there is any one who should be accused of bigotry and a double standard it is the ASA, for their failure to see that the real architects who put up the wall of separation are the terrorists and their supporters who cannot accept amongst 23 Arab states the existence of a small Jewish State,” Hier and Cooper concluded.
