SWC Calls Out Telegram Over Channel That Provides Palestinians With Ways Of How To Kill Israelis

March 10, 2023

The Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC) is condemning social media giant Telegram for providing a platform to a channel that provides Palestinians with detailed instructions for carrying out "lone-wolf" attacks against Israelis and combating Israeli security forces following an attack.

The Telegram channel "The Wolf” shows through a series of videos how to combat Israeli security forces after carrying out an attack, with instructions to locate "safe positions," hiding behind a car, and using Israeli "settlers" as human shields. Another video provides a simulated attack against Israelis sitting in a coffee shop, detailing instructions on how to kills Israelis by shooting and stabbing them.

“Telegram serves as portal for Palestinian terrorists’ guide to murder Jews. History shows it begins with Jews never ends with Jews. Telegram must be held legally accountable. Where is international outcry and UNHRC commission of Inquiry?” stated SWC Associate Dean and Director of Global Social Action Agenda, Rabbi Abraham Cooper.

Later this month, the Center will release its 2023 annual Digital Terrorism and Hate Report. The annual report presents hundreds of examples of how terrorists and their enablers, racists at home and abroad, anti-Semites and other bigots leverage internet technologies to mass market their dangerous agendas. It also highlights the need for public officials and community leaders to call such companies to task.
