Simon Wiesenthal Center Demands Full Accountability From Asbury Park Press After Shocking anti-Semitic Slur

March 23, 2021

Simon Wiesenthal Center statement:

When NBA player Meyers Leonard used a similar anti-Semitic slur, he not only apologized, he was held fully accountable by his team and the League. However, when a reporter for an important source of news in New Jersey uses such language, and it appears in an online publication, something is profoundly wrong.

The Jewish community and their neighbors similarly expect full accountability for these statements, which includes the entire editorial chain of the Asbury Park Press which allowed this language to appear on its website. It is clear that the Media are not immune to the virus of anti-Semitism.

It is an NGO at international agencies including the United Nations, UNESCO, the OSCE, the OAS, the Council of Europe and the Latin American Parliament (Parlatino).
