SWC Founder and Dean, Rabbi Marvin Hier, urges Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to now sponsor UN Resolution Repudiating Jihadist Terror as Debasement of Islam

Rabbi Marvin Hier, Founder and Dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center has written to Iyad Ammen Madani (pictured), Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)  “in support of your condemnation of the horrific terrorist attacks in Brussels, which murdered 31 innocent civilians and injured hundreds”.

Rabbi Hier urged the OIC chief “to go a step further and formally introduce a resolution at the United Nations repudiating the inhumane acts of these Jihadists as a debasement of Islam.”

“Now is the time following Jihadists attacks in France, Turkey and Belgium for the leadership of the Muslim world to seize the moment and, in the name of Islam and hundreds of millions of moderate Muslims, take the lead in sponsoring a resolution that would clearly isolate these mass murderers from the entire Muslim world,” Rabbi Hier added

“Such a resolution at this time would also unite Muslims, Christians and Jews at a pivotal moment in standing together for the betterment of mankind and the sanctity of G-d’s name,” the Wiesenthal Center’s senior official concluded.

The OIC was founded in 1969. The organisation, which represents 57 states, says that the OIC is, "the collective voice of the Muslim world" and works to "safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim world in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony”.
