Probe into Death of Terror Attack Prosecutor Reveals Assad Hosted Argentine-Iranian Meeting in Syria That Led to Deal to Halt of Argentina's AMIA Jewish Centre Bombing Investigation

Officials of the Simon Wiesenthal Center a leading Jewish Human Rights NGO expressed outrage over new revelations confirming that in 2011, then Argentina Foreign Minister Hector Timmerman traveled to Aleppo, Syria where Syrian president Bashar Assad hosted a meeting with Timmerman his Iranian counterpart. Confirmation of this meeting that would lead to a deal with the Christina Kirchner-led government to drop pursuit of justice against Iranian officials linked to the 1994 terrorist outrage in Buenos Aires, was provided by former Argentine Ambassador to Syria, Roberto Ahuad.

Nisman died on the eve of his scheduled presentation to the Argentine Congress. Authorities alleged he committed suicide but critics including the Wiesenthal Center insisted the heroic prosecutor was assassinated. Center offcials praised current President Mauricio Macri for launching a new investigation committed to exposing the entire truth surrounding Nisman’s death and denounced the perfidy of the former Foreign Minister. “I wasn't surprised by the Ambassador's revelation of Assad hosting the Aleppo meeting,” Dr. Shimon Samuels, the Center´s Director for International Relations, said, continuing, "Foreign Minister Timerman, a longtime acquaintance, called me to deny the Aleppo meeting hours following imedia reports. In fact, shortly before his death, Nisman personally confirmed to me the details of his charges."

"Nevertheless, the new testimony confirms the role of Bashar Assad,mass murderer of his own people, in endorsing Iranian terror against Jews, not only in Israel but around the world,” Samuels noted.

“In 40 years at the Wiesenthal Center, there were few people I met who showed greater courage that Alberto Nisman and few diplomats who were so bald-faced in their lies during our official face-to-face meetings than Hector Timmerman", declared Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Associate Dean and Director of Global Social Action for the Wiesenthal Center. “Timmerman’s legacy along with his former boss Christina Kirchner, is tainted with coverups of terrorist mass murder and the fate of the man who dared uncover the truth”.

El genocida sirio Bashar al Assad auspició una reunión entre Argentina e Irán en Aleppo para poner fin a la investigación del atentado a la mutual judía AMIA.

El ex embajador de Argentina en Siria, Roberto Ahuad, testificó ante el Fiscal que reemplazó al fallecido Alberto Nisman para que se continúe investigando los cargos formulados por su predecesor.

Nisman debía presentar su informe ante el Congreso Argentino al día siguiente de su presunto asesinato, en el cual afirmaba que en enero de 2011 el ex canciller Héctor Timerman se había reunido con su homólogo iraní en Aleppo, con el fin de negociar un plan para cerrar la investigación sobre el atentado de 1994 a la mutual judía AMIA en Buenos Aires, el que dejó 85 muertos y más de 300 heridos

El Centro Wiesenthal señaló que "la revelación del embajador acerca de la reunión en Aleppo cobijada por Assad, no fue ninguna sorpresa".

"Sin embargo, el rol de Bashar al Assad, asesino en masa de su propio pueblo, al apoyar el terror iraní contra los judíos de la diáspora, no hace más que destacar que los judíos son blancos en cualquier lugar del mundo y no sólo los israelíes ...", argumentó el Dr. Shimon Samuels, Director de Relaciones Internacionales del Centro, continuando: "El ex Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores Timerman, un conocido de larga data, me llamó para negar la reunión de Aleppo a las pocas horas de haberse sabido de la misma por los medios de comunicación ... En cualquier caso, poco antes de su muerte, Nisman personalmente me confirmó los detalles de todos sus cargos"
