SWC Applauds U.S. Historic Middle East Peace Plan Unveiled At White House

January 28, 2020

The Simon Wiesenthal Center applauded President Trump’s Middle East peace plan, a plan that has the approval of both Prime Minister Netanyahu and Blue and White party head General Benny Gantz.

“President Trump and his team deserve full credit for this monumental initiative” said Rabbi Marvin Hier, dean and founder and Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Associate Dean and Director of Global Social Action Agenda for the leading Jewish human rights NGO.

“We applaud the President’s long-standing friendship to the State of Israel and his commitment to try to help the Palestinians build a better future for themselves.”

“But the success or failure of this plan does not rest in Washington but rather in Jerusalem and Ramallah”, Center officials cautioned. “The State of Israel has publicly committed to walking down this path that ensures Israeli security but it is now up to the Palestinians to decide if they want peace and prosperity or continued instability and hopelessness.”

Rabbi Cooper, who attended today’s White House event, personally thanked the Ambassadors of Bahrain, Oman and the UAE for their attendance at the historic gathering and their nations’ commitment to helping to build a more peaceful region for people of all faiths.

Meanwhile, PA President Mahmoud Abbas rejected the Peace Plan in a meeting which included terrorist organizations including Hamas and PFLP, where he denied that Jerusalem will ever be Israel’s capital and alleging that the American media is controlled by Zionists. Abbas vowed to continue payments to Palestinian terrorists who he described as “ our prisoners, the wounded and the martyrs.”
