Mourning the Passing of Wallis H. Annenberg

July 28, 2025

The Simon Wiesenthal Center mourns the passing of Wallis H. Annenberg, a philanthropist whose unwavering love for the city of Los Angeles transformed lives, uplifted communities, and inspired change that will echo for generations. Wallis Annenberg was a longtime supporter of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, and her boundless generosity, creative spirit, and deep devotion to a wide variety of causes has made our city, and the world, more beautiful, inclusive, and compassionate.

Her passion for the arts, education, and civic connection mirrors the mission we hold dear, and she championed initiatives to create landmark spaces that celebrate identity, history, and belonging. And of course, we will always hold fond memories of seeing the
off-Broadway hit Wiesenthal grace the stage at The Wallis in Beverly Hills. Her legacy is etched not only on the building, but in the hearts of all whose lives have been touched by her kindness and vision.

On behalf of the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s membership, staff and Board of Trustees, allow me to express our deepest condolences to her family. She leaves an enduring legacy.  May her memory be a blessing.
