WIESENTHAL CENTER TO HOLD EVENT TO SHOW SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA’S SOLIDARITY WITH ISRAEL

In wake of critical new developments in the Middle East, the Simon Wiesenthal Center is calling on the Southern California community to stand in solidarity with Israel at a special event to be held at the Center’s Museum building, 9786 W. Pico Blvd. on Thursday, July 13, at 5:00 p.m.

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa; Israeli Consul General Ehud Danoch; Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky; Los Angeles City Councilmember Jack Weiss; and Jewish Federation President John Fishel will participate in the event.

Center officials will use this opportunity to demand that the United Nations condemn state-sponsored terrorism against Israel: “History has shown us that for more than half a century, there is no price to pay for the initiators of terrorism in the Middle East,” said Rabbi Marvin Hier, founder and dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center. “It is only the responders who face international condemnation.”
