SWC Denounces Irish Prime Minister Varadkar for “Lost and Found” Comment Following Return of Hostage Emily Hand from Gaza

November 26, 2023

The Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC) is denouncing Irish Prime Minister Leo Eric Varadkar following the return of Emily Hand.

Varadkar stated that “an innocent child who was lost has now been found and returned” when in fact she was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists during their attack on Israel on October 7th.

“Lost and found? Who are you kidding,” said Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Associate Dean and Director of Global Social Action at the SWC.  “This young Israeli girl was kidnapped by Hamas mass murderers on the day when the largest number of Jews were murdered in one day since the end of the Nazi Holocaust.”
